No Blog for you...
03.31.04 (6:15 pm) [edit]
I am far too busy and otherwise distracted to take care of any writings today.
Please check out some of my links on the left, check out the link to Amazon.com and buy something for a special someone, leave some cash with the paypal donation button on the right hand side of the screen, or just sit and pout till I get back.
But honestly I would really appreciate it if you did one of the more constructive options on the list rather than pout, but to each their own right?
Cheers! jim

Theory...
03.29.04 (6:46 pm) [edit]
Greed Is Good.
Ok so it is a theory as well as a great line from a great movie. (Wallstreet in case you didn't know.) But recently I had a conversation with someone and we got on the topic of greed and this line was centerpiece very quickly. This lead to some rather off beat validations for the quote/theory.
I wonder if any of you could come up with validation for this idea. And for all the progressives and/or socialists in the house, try explaining to me why its is all wrong and we neo-capitalist dawgs need to be taught a lesson.
I will let everyone know my validations for the remark at a later date. For now it is up to all of you do do just that.
Cheers! JIM

I breached this subject once before I believe on this site. But, RWN goes a tad further by giving specifics and by including some nifty artwork to boot.

A Little Trivia...
03.29.04 (9:37 am) [edit]
Ok so everyone recognizes the names of some of the companies working under contract to rebuild Iraq. We hear their names ballied about but attacking leftists all the time. Always throwing in some type negative distortion or thoughts of collusion between politicians and the corporate officials. Well recently, upon some searching, I came across another "connected" corporation under contract for millions to do work in Iraq.
Did the CEO of this corporation once have a connection to a top administration official in the White House?
Nope
Did he/she belong to the Skull and Bones with George?
Uh, uh.
Did this company donate money to the Replubican party?
Guess again.
This company, Perini Corp., is a construction company from Massachusets, and is partially owned by Richard Blum. Richard who, you ask? Richard Blum, you know, the husband of the Democrat (And very left) Senator from California. Oh, you searched for a Sen. Blum from California and didn't find one? She kept her name. The name is Feinstein.
So will we know hear Perini corp. connected with names like Halliburton or Carlyle when the left wave their bloody shirt over corporate involvement in Iraq? I don't think so, but for the sake of consistency I had to try and ask. Not that I think either is wrong or bad. The United States is still a country of capitalism right?

Some Random Thoughts...
03.28.04 (5:02 pm) [edit]
I have been far to preoccupied this fine day (80 Degrees outside and Wonderful) to do any real research and writing for the blog here. So I have decided to post a few random theories and thoughts I have had over the past few days.
P.A.B.S. - People Are Basically Stupid Meaning that "people" when considered as a whole are basically stupid, regardless the persons involved in constituting the group. Also note that it has been observed the larger the group the more stupid the group becomes.
Those with the loudest voices when a question is asked of a group are usually the ones who are th most wrong, and wrong the most often.
Sex is like pizza, even when its bad its good.
If most of us put as much effort into complimenting and fixing as we do in criticizing and demeaning the world would be a much better and more effecient place.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by this site. Although you are not the only reason I do this you are one of the more important ones, and to have ten thousand people stop by here and check it out since I put this up in January is amazing.
I hope to continue to bring you all things having to do with the world around us, with my very own personal interpretation, of course. If it isn't broke, don't fix it, and I guess this site so far isn't broke.
Once again, thank you for stopping by and checking out my site so consistently. And remember if there is anything you ever want to see here or discuss with me personally, you can send me an email anytime.

Too Little Too Late...
03.26.04 (10:28 am) [edit]
Maybe its just me and the fact that I think the UN is nothing but a high school debate team with better hair, but today's declaration by Anan is just too little too late.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm /20040326/wl_nm/rwanda_un _dc_1" title="http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm /20040326/wl_nm/rwanda_un _dc_1" target="_blank"http://news.yahoo.com/news?tm...
10 years. Thats all it took.
So how long till he apologizes for the Iraq oil for food program under investigation right now? Mond you everyone who was against the war in Iraq (France, Russia, Germany, even Anan's son among others) are under investigation for that one. So 10 years from now will we get another meaningless apology?
Do one better, Kofi. Dismantle the entire useless organization, and admit your failure. Maybe then we can get back to protecting the sovreignty of this country without looking to others for permission.

Zell Miller is his name. He is the Democratic Senator from Georgia. His truthfulness and conscientious approach to politics should serve as an example for all those in his party, as well as mine.
Why don't you go and join him, in his support for the better candidate.

Some Cut 'N Paste
03.24.04 (5:16 pm) [edit]
I have been a little busy today taking care of some things for the summer semester and getting my fantasy baseball team ready for the season. So I only have some cut and paste available for everyone.
Below is the the Op/Ed article from today's Washington Post about the 9/11 Debate.
The 9/11 Debate
Wednesday, March 24, 2004; Page A20
THE PARTISAN furor that has erupted this week over the Bush administration's handling of terrorism before and after Sept. 11 is inevitable and maybe even useful during a presidential election campaign. But it shouldn't obscure the central finding that has emerged from the various official investigations of the past several years, including that of the independent federal commission holding public hearings this week: that before Sept. 11, 2001, both the Bush and Clinton administrations failed to take adequate measures against the al Qaeda network or to fully appreciate the menace that it posed. As a commission staff report issued yesterday concluded, the Clinton administration had identified Osama bin Laden as a threat by 1995, but years of efforts to kill or extradite him failed, while a debate over what to do about his base in Afghanistan "continued inconclusively throughout the last year and a half of the Clinton administration." The Bush team, initially focused on other priorities, eventually agreed on a more aggressive policy -- but only days before Sept. 11, 2001. Few officials in either administration saw al Qaeda as the most important emerging threat to U.S. security.
One person who did get it was Richard A. Clarke, a bureaucratic veteran who served President Bill Clinton as a "counterterrorism czar" and was retained by the Bush administration, although in a diminished role. By his own account, Mr. Clarke was a principal actor in a White House that "could not get the CIA, the Pentagon and the FBI to act sufficiently to deal with the [terrorism] threat." He might well have devoted the bulk of the book he published this week to this disappointing eight-year record. Instead he chose to use his memoir, and a series of high-profile television appearances, to launch a blistering critique of President Bush's first eight months in office. Mr. Bush, he charged, failed to take steps that might have stopped Sept. 11, then wasted American resources and lives on an unrelated and unnecessary war in Iraq.
Mr. Clarke has succeeded in provoking a typically hyperaggressive counteroffensive from the Bush camp, which is portraying him as a grudge-wielding partisan of Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.). But whatever his motives, Mr. Clarke's charges deserve a debate on the merits. His first claim, that Mr. Bush "ignored terrorism for months when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11," is true at least in part -- but it ignores the context that the new administration's sluggishness didn't distinguish it much from the previous team, or the rest of the world. In that sense, Mr. Clarke's claim that the Bush inner circle was blinded by an obsession with Iraq rings false. Moreover, even a laserlike focus might not have helped. Although the CIA warned of an al Qaeda attack in the summer of 2001, most of the intelligence was about targets in foreign countries. No one anticipated the kinds of strikes that took place in New York and at the Pentagon.
Mr. Clarke describes Mr. Bush's questions about a possible Iraqi role on the day after the Sept. 11 attacks as irrational; in fact, they were entirely reasonable. Iraq was an indisputable threat when Mr. Bush took office -- one, like al Qaeda, that the Clinton administration had aptly described but failed to counter. Moreover, within days of asking those questions, Mr. Bush put Saddam Hussein on a back burner and ordered a U.S. military operation against al Qaeda's base in Afghanistan -- a tough decision that Mr. Clarke wrongly takes for granted.
What the former czar really objects to is the president's move, some six months later, to expand the war on terrorism to Iraq and other rogue states capable of supplying terrorists with weapons of mass destruction. Mr. Clarke, like Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) and some others in the Democratic Party, argue for a narrower war, focused on al Qaeda. We disagree with that view, but it represents a legitimate alternative to Bush administration policy. Does Mr. Kerry support it? There -- more than in the what-ifs about decisions made before Sept. 11 -- lie the makings of an important debate.

Follow the Money...
03.22.04 (1:41 pm) [edit]
I promised myself that I wasn't going to post on the Clarke book of misinformation and innuendo mainly because I saw it as an obvious attempt to finger point for a tragedy in which we all are responsible. However, the more I read and heard about the book and its author, the more I saw a need. Mainly, because Clarke himself, even with his deflections and blame-gaming, was in his position when terrorists began using the United States as a punching bag.
This is a man that went along with not extraditing Bin Laden not once but twice from Sudan. This is a man that while the USS Cole was being bombed was claiming the major terror battleground was cyberspace. This is a man that was the key defender of this country from terrorism when attacks happened both on our own soil with the first WTC attacks as well as on others soil with the embassy bombings. And yet with all this it was not him, nor the former administration of which he was a part of, that hold even part of the burden for the 9-11 attacks. It is, in his not so humble opinion, his former boss George W. Bush. Mind you that this is the same POTUS that canned him.
But I digress.
The newest twist, which should not surprise many, is the money trail. Clarke's book was published by "Simon & Schuster." The same publisher who brought us ONeill's protests after his termination. Then Clarke, like ONeill, went on the CBS show 60 Minutes to promote his speculation. Guess who owns Simon&Schuster? Guess who owns CBS? Funny, but the answer to both is Viacom.
This is some very good self-promotion.
Hopefully those willing (I say willing because many are so blinded by ignorance and visceral hatred they will never be willing) will see this for what it is.
I think Scott McClellan said it best, "When you compare Dick Clarke's current rhetoric with his past comments and actions, the bedrock of his assertions comes crumbling down," He called Clarke's new book, criticizing the administration's handling of the post-Sept. 11 terrorism environment, "more about politics and book promotions than it is about policies."

They Got Him!!!

No, not Zawahiri.
No, not some Chechen rebel.
The head man himself. The founder of one of the worst terrorist organizations in the world.
ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES KILL HAMAS FOUNDER
This is as big a blow to terrorism in the middle east as the death of Zawahiri would be for terrorism in the rest of the world. And for those of you wishing to view Hamas as something different than Al-Queda and the rest of the terror world, I want to remind you of a few things. This organization makes payments to families left behind by homicide bombers. This organization is believed to be the one behind disgusting acts like this one. This organization glorified a mother who blew her self up leaving behind a family. This organization has given us scenes like these.
Feel free to say I am being insensitive, inflammatory, onesided. I don't care. The man spent his life building a foundation of hate and murder of those who had different beliefs than his own, and I for one am happy he is gone. The only sadness I feel is for the ones he may have left behind that will view this as an opprotunity for more bloodshed. That is not what we need on either side, but hopefully through the hurried extinction of villainous creeps like this one the bloodshed will one day come to a close.
May he somehow be rewarded in the next life for the damage he inflicted on so many in this one.
1 less murdering hate mogering Islamo-fascist Jew hating terrorist. To me that is a good thing.

Alright guys, I have a way for everyone to help me while helping yourselves as well. A little while back I asked you all for some help with raising some money for school. So far the floodgates are still closed on that front, and I would still appreciate and be forever greatful to any donation through the paypal button on the right of the screen. But, now I have another way to try and alter the cruel fate of college expenditures. The newest weapon on this front is the Amazon.com button you see on the left of your screen. While you go there and shop and buy all the things you normally would anyway, they will help me out by giving me a tiny percentage for a refferal. As with the quest for donations anything and everything will be helpful. All I ask is that if you do any shopping at Amazon.com and you read this site please combine them by finding amazon through my link to the left.
I thank everyone who is willing to help either through the Amazon.com refferal button or the paypal donation button. A lot is needed but even a little would be helpful.

Scalia Sets the Record Straight
03.21.04 (3:25 pm) [edit]
In the recent flap over the recusal request made by the Sieera Club in regards to Justice Scalia, much misinformation has been propagated and little truth or fact has been made available through traditional journalistic outlets. In reponse to the request Scalia wrote a 21 page memorandum. In this mamo Scalia accounts specifics of the trip in question, refuting earlier information from the L.A. Times and others that he was invited at the behest of V.P. Cheney.
Also in this memo Scalia makes excellent points about precedent in regards to the suggestion of a "no-friends rule." He cites the 1952 ruling of Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer where President Truman himself was ruled to be in violation when the nation's steel mills were siezed during a labor dispute. This happened, as Scalia points out, while many of the Justices were close friends of the POTUS and 4 had even been appointed by him.
The most striking part, IMO, of the entire memo and the events that made it nessacery, is the fact that Morrison, the lawyer who filed the motion for recusal, had written a personal note to Scalia inviting the the Supreme Court Justice to speak at a class Morrison was teaching at Stanford University. Scalia never speaks of Morrison by name but the letter has been released by the court. Scalia does connect the request by Morrison and the Sierra Club's attempted imposition. The Sierra Club is trying to use:
"a standard regarding friendship, the appearance of friendship, and the acceptance of social favors, that is more stringent than what they themselves observe"
Funny how so many try to take the attitude of "Do as I say" and not the attitude of "Do as I do." However, I am sure this will not stem the tide in this area nor will it prevent "professional" journalists from jumping to assumptions and conclusions in the next case against the administration.

Scalia's Memo (PDF Format)
**Update** In connection with this post in should be noted that our governmental system as a whole is incredibly clean of corruption, even though some like to take the perception of impropriety and blanket the system entirely with corruption by proxy. Dean's World has a post on just this subject. The information found at Outside The Beltway may be stunning to some, but should be thought of by all when assaults are lobbed like grenades at the system.

Thank you. Thank you all.
03.19.04 (8:28 pm) [edit]
Ok so at work this evening a family came in looking around at nothing imparticualr. I asked if they needed help and they responded that they were just killing time waiting for their table at the returant next door. I proceeded to ask if there was special occasion, although I was not really ready for the response given.
The lady pointed at an old man across the way and said, "You see him?" "Yes," I replied. "Well that is my husbands father. He served in WWII and it is birthday." "You should all be very proud," I said with greatful smile on my face. "And you see the guy next to him?" "Yes." "That is my husband, his son, he just got back from his tour in Afgahnistan recently." "That is really great," I said with actual sincerity something that rarely comes out of me at work sadly. "Yes, we are all so proud of them both. It has been a long time since we all sat down together for a meal like this." At this point the two men joined us near the front of the store. This allowed me to shake their hands and thank them personally for their service. The older man went on to tell all within earshot about his service with the Air Force like it was yesterday and not 60+ years ago. The younger man, just back from Afgahnistan, told a similar story in the fact that it was a wartime story, but his had a very different vibe through it. While it seemed the older man got such happiness just from talking of the more grandiose events (dropping bombs, flying a plane under enemy fire, etc...) the younger gentleman seemed to focus on a much more personal side of things. (The locals he met, the children giving him high fives, etc...)
This struck me as odd. Mainly because all the talks and readings I have ever had about WWII involved great talks of liberation. From the towns in France celebrating US troops to freed Italians throwing a fracas with Musalini's corpse. But it was the liberation aspect of the War on Terror not WWII that was the impacted the stories at hand. The happiness and sincere feeling in this man's voice when he spoke of his service abroad made me almost feel like I was watching a recruitment video.
As the stories began to come to an end their buzzer/pager thing from the resturant went off. Before they said goodbye I told them I had just one more question.
They said all answered in unison, "Sure," with the older gentleman adding, "We have waited this long why not a few more seconds."
I paused for a second trying to think of what words I wanted to use. I did this mainly because I wanted to be very specific and I wanted there to be a direct answer from them. Looking at the two soldiers, I asked, "Was it worth it? Would you do it again if asked?"
Without a milisecond of pause both said yes in a very matteroffact kind of way. They both had looks on their faces like why would he even ask that? I then shook their hands again and said thank you. Making sure to catch the eye of the older man to wish him a happy birthday. After this they wandered out the door after a few pleasentries. Going into the night to celebrate this Vetran's Birthday.
This was one of the most profound meetings I have ever had in my life. If there was any doubt as to the mission before this country they are all removed now. If there were any doubt as to whether or not God was on our side (Hello Sen. Kerry) there isnt now. All of it was erased within a blink of an eye when these two great men spoke. Two men who sacrificed their very own freedoms to protect, defend and ensure that of otehrs around the world.
So I say again thank you. Thank so very much to every single one of you.

Thank you.

So I was trying to do some searches to find out more info as to whether or not they were linked to my heritage or not and I came across something interesting but completely off topic.

03.17.04 (11:52 am) [edit]
As many of you know (All of you should know. I haven’t exactly been keeping it a secret) my heritage is Irish. That makes today’s celebrations that much more special. Because of this, I have made some special arrangements to visit the mother country.
Well, not exactly visiting the mother country. I am however going to Epcot’s World Showcase to have some ”http://www.guinness.com/" target="_blank"Guinness , some ”http://www.bassale.com/" target="_blank"Bass, and some ”http://www.themacallan.com/”target="_blank"Macallan. I think we are having some dinner in there too. So this will be my only post of the day for you all.
Join me in the festivities if not in person, by wearing some green, speaking some ”http://www.irishgaelictransla..." target="_blank"Gaelic, and hating the English. You can leave out the last part if you want, but only if you’re a souper.
Cheers All! Jim

Some Tidbits of Joy....
03.12.04 (6:57 pm) [edit]
While I was sitting here worried and anxious over how in the world I was going to afford school next semester, my mind switched tracks for a few. I stopped thinking of everything that was wrong or everything that stood/stands in my way, and I started pondering what I like/love in this world and just had to post on it.
I love the twinkle of innocence in the eyes of a child.
I love those who have stood by me throughout my somewhat tumultuous life. (You know exactly who you are. And if you don't ask I will let you know)
I like the history channel as well as all truely informative television. The greatest use of the medium is to inform and educate.
I like blogging. It is a release for me and I really do look forward to pounding the keys for everyone and anyone out there who may want to read.
I like learning. This is why it is so hard for me to think of not continuing school. I like it in every form, from text books to knowledgable talks with real people.
I love life. I thank God for allowing me this great gift. I can't imagine the world without it. (Although I am sure it would be pretty boring)
I like the challenge and the chase that all good things make me undertake.
I love women. The are truely a wonder to behold. From their shape, to their smell, smiles, laughs, walk, and everything in between. I love everything that women have to offer. (Those of you should also know who you are. If you don't I will inspect later.)
I love the written word. There is no greater connection than a writer's pen. It connects us with history, imagination, facts and figures and yet still finds the time for us to make our own stories.
I love to drive. Whether it be a truck, car, or SUV I love to drive. I would gladly drive anywhere in the world if it were possible just for the fun and thrill.
I like myself and my opprotunities I have. It may have been a very bumpy road (I do not wish to extrapolate on this in this post but if you want to ask I will answer) but I have had my chances to make it less bumpy and now I think I finally have chosen the correct path.(Difficult as it is)
Hope everyone out there has a list like this. If you don't make one. It certainly has helped with my mood and outlook. I am sure there are things that I have forgotten or omitted here. Feel free to add them to the list in the comments. I will make ammendments to this list as time goes by I am sure.
Cheers!
**UPDATE** Wanted to add something before I signed off for the night.
I love my Irish heritage. I love how it has connected me with great drink (Like Guiness), Great people like (Dennis Leary and Sean Hannity), and great literature (Like Joyce and Frank and Malachy McCourt). I LOVE IRELAND.

I Could Really Use Your Help...
03.11.04 (10:19 pm) [edit]
So as most of you know here I am a college student, what many of you don't know is that I am personally struggling to pay for it. Especially since I transferred to school out of state. Because of this, as well as the fact that I have always counted on the kindness of strangers *L*, I have added a Donation button on the right hand side of your screen.
I am not really expecting much if anything but even if it helps pay for a book that would be great (My books for the current semester were over $450 dollars used).
So without sounding to much like a PBS telethon, I wanted to ask for any help that any of you may be able to give.
I thank everyone ahead of time for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog, and I truely thank any and all of you the will be able to leave something in the "tipjar".
Thanks, and Cheers.
*Update I am putting this in the Politics section because that is where most of my posts are. Hopefully that will mean that that is where most of my readers are coming from. Just trying to get the word out I guess. I don't see really any other way to afford it. Thanks again.
**Update I recently recieved my FAFSA information back and they are not going to able to help me at all. This is because my parents (Who are not paying for my schooling at all I am 23 y/o) made too much money last year. Thus my expected family contribution is extremely high and only monies over that amount would qualify for financial aid. Even if my parents wanted to help out, they could never afford anything close to what the Gov. is anticipating as the contribution. I have basically been stuck in a position where no one can help me. Please anything that you could add would be greatly appreciated. I just see no other way at this point.

Disturbing Pictures From Spain
03.11.04 (8:22 pm) [edit]
Sobering Pictures
Remember on 9/11 a lot of countries stood by us and now that Spain is undergoing her own tragedy let us now make sure they do not walk alone. This is a listing of various Spanish Consulates in the US. Please write, send flowers, gifts whatever you might find necessary. This will truly be a country in mourning just as we were/are after the WTC attacks.
If you are close enough perhaps a candlelight vigil can be mustered.
El dios bendice todo esos perdido hoy en las manos de terroristas. Oro para todo usted y esos usted dejó atrás. Nosotros no nos olvidaremos.

Disturbing honestly. How does anyone possibly want to vote for this guy? And I am not asking how or why someone would want to vote against Bush. I want to know how and/or why anyone would vote for Kerry. Please, I wouldn't say I am openminded as to I am voting for, but I would be openminded to whatever reasons or justifications you may have.
Why would anyone ever vote for this man to be President? I am sorry but short of Chirac or Putin I cant think of another politician in the world that would make me give my vote to Kerry. So what the fuck is it? Why vote for this flip flopping pompous twit jackass?
Is it the ads from the DNC extensions liek Moveon.org and "America Coming Together" that has pushed some of you over the edge? Is it their doom and gloom that has scared you into believing a man who hasn't had truth on is side on one issue since coming back from Vietnam?
Explain it to me. Maybe then I will get it and it won't irk me so. But rigfht now I see it as nothing but ignorance and I feel I am tossing pearls at swine. Why in the hell is John "Fucking" Kerry getting any support? Why are you going to vote for him?
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

I think Kerry is on something, he is turning more and more into a caricature and less of a real Senator everyday.

Gas Price Response for Question
03.04.04 (10:04 pm) [edit]
Hey guess what, you actually have a decent idea here.
You just have the action way too far down the food chain.
The problem lies at OPEC not at the pump. The Oil Producing and Extortion Cartel as I like to call them reduced output even as supply was going up and has caused the price of sweet crude to skjyrocket to nearly $40 a barrel. It should be somewhere around $25 if production was stepped up to meet demand instead of lowered to price gouge. Thankfully Iraq is back to prewar output and is not a member of OPEC and thus not required to follow their price or production restrictions. (Yeah I know war for oil war for oil blah blah blah) This will soon hopefully bring more openeness to the market for crude and thusly lower the gas cost at the pump.
You should also talk to your congressmen about the NOPEC bill which was brought about in 2000 I believe but never saw the light of day. The NOPEC bill was an attempt to hold OPEC accountable for their price gouging tactics by freezing their assests here in the US until they answered charges in US courts under statutes similar to RICO.
The second is the current Highway Bill, the Democrats in congress are currently trying to push through a bloated bill which is nearly double the original, they are planning on paying for this with a usage tax. Do you know what a usage tax is? It is a rate hike in teh gas tax, by nearly 5 cents. As you see tehre is a lot more to it than it appears, it is not a zero sum game. [LINE]

Where Did It All Go?
03.04.04 (9:45 am) [edit]
Well in the case of budget surpluses, it just so happens that the never existed.
You know what I am talking about, that supposed giant surplus put together by Clinton's magnific regime. Well guess what? It was nothing but projections by the Congressional Budget Office.
If you don't believe me check out this guy. He has far more info in his post. I just find it funny that it is another topic of harping for the left that turns out false.

More on Florida
03.03.04 (10:48 pm) [edit]
So I made a post the other day about some very strange stories that I have noticed since I moved down here. The stories have ranged from a school teacher daring a student to jump out of a 2nd story window to a couple of people burying elderly family members in the foundation of a house in order to get Social Security benefits after their death.
Well I have found a site that allows you to see all the dumb laws that the states have on the books. I of course chose Florida to look at first. Here are some of the winners:
1. A special law prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sunday or she shall risk arrest, fine, and/or jailing.
2. It is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit.
3. Oral sex is illegal.
4. Corrupting the public morals is defined as a nuisance, and is declared a misdemeanor offense.
5. You may not kiss your wife's breasts.
Feel free to check out your own state Here.

Hypothesis:
03.03.04 (10:18 pm) [edit]
There are currently 2 cultures in the west.
1. Skeptical Secularism, brought about through scientific, industrial, and electronic revolutions and breakthroughs.
and
2. Romanticism, brought about through the enlightenment , the renaissance, and even the reformation to a degree.
Romanticism vs. Skepticism
Now I am sure there are some of you that will find "middle ground" somewhere out there, there is plenty to be had. But I do believe that as with practically anything we all "lean" one way or the other, no one is truely in between. But, feel free to scream and rant in the comments if I am wrong. Just make sure to tell me why I am wrong.
Cheers!

Racist Board Game?
03.03.04 (9:53 pm) [edit]
So who here has played chess? I play from time to time, not as much as I used to. This may be due to the fact that new opponents are hard to find, and I don't like to play pc styled chess preferring to handle the pieces before me. I like the strategy involved, the math, and the imposition of wills through the competitive battle.
What I did not realize through all this play with knights, queens, and rooks is the the game of kings has had me practicing racism all this time. Bill Ware has made the decision that chess in inherently racist and because of this he has taken it upon himself to change the game. A game which has been around for centuries is now aparently in need of a "Political Correction."
"By saying that white automatically is offensive, it states that white is better than black," Ware said.
He has even devised an algebraic formula to determine whom goes first to combat the racist practicum. Sadly my ideas to flip a coin or play rock-paper-scissors were tossed aside for being confrontational and belittling to handicapable people who may be missing the use of upper limbs.
I think this is a tad silly myself, and think that this is just another attempt to find racism where none exists. Perhaps Sahrpton can add this to his campaign issues? If you wish to read more about this you can do so, and if you think I am wrong and that chess is racist let me know. Maybe I am missing something here, I doubt it, but it is possible.

Economic Peril? Not so fast...
03.03.04 (2:04 pm) [edit]
Insults Unpunished has a great little post on the economy. Taking a look at the averages for the first 3 years in office for both Clinton and George W. Bush they are more similar than some would lead us to believe.
Now this will come as no shock to those of us actually looking at the numbers out there, but it definately will come as a surprise to those on the left buying into this doom-and-gloom aspect of the economy. For instance have you ever wondered why the left always touts that 2.4 million lost jobs number instead of complaining about the high unemployment rate? It is because the unemployement rate even now is lower than the average was for the previous administration.
But, enough of me tooting the proverbial horn, I will let this illustrate the rest of the points for me.

Kerry Gains Endorsement With Primary Wins
03.02.04 (7:51 pm) [edit]
Today in a press confrence, just after the early exit polls showed Kerry with a lead in every state, the vision of Joe Rogers, Sr. and Tom Forkner was realized. With a onlooking group of franchise owners a spokesperson for "The Waffle House" proclaimed Kerry was, "their candidate."
"No one waffles like that guy." One onlooker replied when asked why John "Ketchup" Kerry.
So now the 24 hour resturant known for the big yellow sign, hash brown toppings, and of course waffles has a true Heinz boytoy to add to their collection of fine Heinz sauces they already use in their resturants.
When asked what this would mean to his campaign Kerry huffed, "Their decision just like many of the decisions made by this corporation has taken far too long." After taking a bite from his smothered, covered, and chunked hash browns he looked up and stated," It is very dangerous for them to have rushed to the decision of this magnitude like they have, if only they had acted multi-laterally and gotten the assistance of IHOP and Maybe Shoney's we wouldn't be caught in this quagmaire known as brubch. We should have learned these lessons from Vietnam, I was there,"
Awe struck resturant visitors quickly rose to their feet and began appluading.
"That is why he is so great. He is so good he can take a bold a decisive stand on the issues, and somehow be on both sides at the same time. He never has to pick one like those nonsensical politicians. He gets the nuances," was whispered by one in the crowd nearby the Vietnam Vet turned politician.
Quite possibly the best comment came from little Peggy Sue. The 3rd grader looked up from here placemat menu and told her mom,"And I thought the 22,020,096 ways to prepare the hash browns was a lot of different thingys. Does he ever pick just one thing to like mommy?"
[LINE] In case you didnt notice that was satire. Probably fairly poor but satire nonetheless.
The Waffle House does proudly serve Heinz sauces.
The Psuedo-Quote from Kerry mirrors what his remarks have been about POTUS GWB in regards to rushing into Iraq and then stating recently that GWB always lags behind and takes to long to take action when commenting on Haiti.
The comment about Kerry being better than other politicians because he can take both sides of the issue through his understanding the nuances of life comes from the NYT endorsement of him as a candidate.
Hope you enjoyed.
